Abstract

This article reviews the emerging data regarding the development of effective chemotherapy. The data on specific classes of chemotherapeutic agents are described and highlight seminal clinical trials. Next, the goals of chemotherapy treatment are analyzed in various disease settings. Finally, new agents currently under study are discussed. Other excellent reviews that have been published recently offer the reader further information on this topic.
