Restaging of mesothelioma after induction therapy is even more complicated and still controversial. The recently described, modified response evaluation criteria in solid tumors (RECIST) criteria are presently the most accurate for response evaluation.
March 18th, 2005. Assessment of immunological competence and SV40 specific recall immunity in malignant pleural mesothelioma
74. 1% (20/27) of MPM patients and 80% (8/10) of the control subjects showed T cell responsiveness to the viral peptides mix, whilst a small proportion showed SV40 specific recall immunity.

Conclusion: CT is helpful in the differential diagnosis of pleural diseases, particularly in differentiating malignant from benign conditions and metastatic pleural disease from malignant mesothelioma.
March 1st, 2005. Malignant Deciduoid Mesothelioma: A Diagnostic Challenge
The patient died 14 months after the first operation. This observation confirms the poor prognosis of this entity and the importance of the differential diagnosis of pseudotumoral deciduosis.
